Provincial Licensure

Physician Assistants are currently licensed as Certified Clinical Assistants in Manitoba. Licensure is granted through the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM). In December 1999 the Manitoba Medical Act was amended to include the Clinical Assistant Regulation. This regulation is the legislation which enables PA’s to practice in the Province of Manitoba as a Clinical Assistant. This regulation allows PA's to be registered under Part II of the Clinical Assistant Registry.
